Installation and Precautions for Vertical Water Pump
● The water pump shall be installed in a well-ventilated, frost-protected location. Ensure a minimum clearance of 150mm between the pump (including its motor) and any obstructions, to guarantee adequate airflow around the motor's cooling fan.
● To minimize inlet friction loss, the suction piping should be configured as short as feasible.
● Prior to pump installation, verify that a check valve has been installed in the piping system to prevent fluid backflow. If the pump is utilized for boiler water supply, a check valve must be fitted in the delivery piping between the pump and the boiler.
● The pump shall be installed on a properly elevated foundation made of concrete or equivalent materials; alternatively, it may be mounted on a stable floor or fixed support structure. Care must be taken to avoid concentrating the weight of the piping on the pump, as this could lead to pump damage.
● WARNING: Under no circumstances shall the motor be mounted upside down on a horizontal surface during pump installation.
● The arrow marking “➡” on the pump base designates the flow direction of fluid through the pump. Prior to pump startup, verify that fluid can flow freely through the unit.
● If the outlet-side globe valve may be closed (or if the flow rate could drop to zero), a bypass line must be installed in the outlet piping to ensure sufficient lubrication and cooling water flow through the pump.
● Before pump installation, the suction piping shall be cleaned. If the absence of particulate matter in the piping cannot be guaranteed, a strainer must be installed 0.5 to 1 meter upstream of the pump suction inlet (this is especially recommended for pumps with a flow rate of less than 8 m³/h) to ensure normal pump operation. During suction piping installation, air pocket formation must be prevented (see Figure 1).
